#16 ELAD LASSRY | Frame and Presentation

Elad Lassry

Elad Lassry plays a lot with the frames, using the same color of the backdrop, or even having objects out of the frame. We always consider frames as a border of the work, which only contains a work but not part of the work. Yet, when the work are presented with the frame, the frame got involved.
His work give me a lot of inspiration of the presentation of my own work, to think of more possibilities of mounting, matting and others.

#15 Ania Wawrzkowicz | Sculpture

http://ania.photography
Ania Wawrzkowicz, a still life photographer based in London.

Her works cannot be only seen as image, but a sculpture. Objects are constructed into a completely new shape and form. Also, her works can be considered as minimalism, since objects are taken as lines, shapes and color, but not a 3-dimentional object anymore.

#14 KAWITA VATANAJYANKUR | Making Nonsense

http://www.kawita-v.com
Thai-Australian photographer and video artist

Her works are totally nonsense in a way, and you can't really see any meaning behind these images. However, in her nonsense, you feel happy and no pressure of trying to read the pictures.

#13 MOLLIE BOSWORTH | Cyanotype

Australia-based ceramic artist
http://www.visualartist.info/molliebosworth
I accidentally saw this work in a gallery in Gold Coast, Australia. And i didn't know about this photographic method, cyanotype until then. I was so amazed by this blue and sharp edge of the image. And also, this artist takes this project as a collection of tropical plants. Besides the prints, she also makes the pattern on to the ceramics. Actually I also tried cyanotype this summer, and i found that it is a very interesting process, meanwhile not so easy to make such beautiful blue.

#12 CASSIE MACHADO | Culture Explorations

http://cassiemachado.com/Offerings
Cassie Machodo, and artist of English and Sri Lankan descent.

A country that will not cry for the dead.
A country that deemed their grave an infamy and effaced it.
A country that refused the right to live.

To control the tears, mouths shut
.
We are pleading with our hands for freedom

at least to shed tears.

Socially engaged artwork about Sri Lanka. Open hands in tin color and blur effect represent a hopeless hope in Sri Lanka. With the text directly writing on the photo, the intention of the artist goes even stronger.
