#4 ERNO-ERIK RAITANEN | Bacteriology and Photography

At the first sight of this work, I thought this was a digital graphic work. Yet, this series of work are all based on film photography. The Finnish photographer Erno-Erik Raitanen used cotton swabs to collect bacteria samples from his mouth and then wiped them on film. Photography is a product of science. Back in the age of film photography, photography was mainly about chemistry. Nowadays, photography is more about the digital technology. I very much like how he experiments with bacteriology and photography to achieve a form of photographs.
