#1 JOSE PASMANS | Photo as Object

Jose Pasmans
Amsterdam based photographer

I got this name from a book called <New Photo>. One of her works is the cover of that book, and it's not too bad so i went through the whole book, and sadly i only marked down this name(other works are just...boring for me). Anyway i checked her website and found out that her works are  not just a single image we see on the screen or on a piece of paper. The final images are usually made by layering.
For example, in the project, "In time we fade away"
These photos looked blurry at some parts. Actually she layered several same prints with transparent base, which i guess are tracing papers, on the light box to create this effect. And very importantly her works are presented in 3-dimantional way.

In a latter project, "Protection", she even mixes photos with other materials, such as dust.

All in all, I like her idea of bringing 2D to 3D, and being well-presented in both 2D and 3D conditions. It also inspires me again about the concept of taking photos as more than just a image, but also an object.
